Rain Or Shine, We Serve

Press Statement Michael Kong:

On 03.10.2020, DAP Stampin Parliamentary Team together with DAPSY organized a ‘gotong royong’ at Lorong 2 of Stampin Resettlement Scheme. This park serves a dual purpose; for people to play and exercise and/or to gather and mingle.

Over time, the community park has been forgotten by the council. The state and condition of the park deteriorate as days goes by. We see rubbish being littered everywhere. Unswept leaves and branches also accumulate at drainage outlets which will lead to water ponding and/or flash flooding.

Despite the rainy weather, DAP together with members of the public managed to clear the rubbish which has accumulated over the years. However, the job does not stop here as everyone has a role to play to keep the park clean and safe. Health is not just the absence of any physical disease such as Covid-19 but involves healthy habits and physical well-being while living in a conducive environment.

We also hope that the council will play a more proactive role to create a clean and safe environment for the general public to use.
