Press Statement by Alan Ling:

Workers at the Pos Malaysia mail centre here recently receives 1,000 face masks.

Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sarawak secretary Senator Alan Ling and Hungry Food Delivery platform Miri person in charge Ting Kung Ping presented the donation to mail centre manager Jem Kwan

“I am glad that we can contribute some face masks to our unsung heroes, as their personal protection, who have worked tirelessly in carrying out their daily tasks,” Ling said.

“I hope these face masks will benefit over 70 staff in the mail centre, especially our delivery heroes, the postmen who are among those who face high risks of the Covid-19 outbreak.”

He pointed out the staff have been working even during the Movement Control Order (MCO) as essential service providers.

“Most importantly they have to continue to play an important role to ensure that the online platforms are delivered to them,” he said.

Ting said the jobs of Hungry food delivery riders and postmen are similar in nature – both deliver to recipients’ doorsteps.

“Thus, I feel that is extremely meaningful to chip in to have the joint donation,” he said.
