State Money Belongs to All Sarawakians, Not GPS

Press Statement By Michael Kong:

Monies in the state’s coffers are not GPS’ personal property and therefore should not be treated as such.

SUPP’s Francis Harden’s stand that longhouse chiefs that support Opposition parties should not receive any allowance for their service is typical of the ignorant politicians of the yesteryear. DAPSY believes that everyone in Malaysia should always embrace one another’s differences; be it race, religion or even political beliefs.

Francis Harden must remember that the money that the GPS state government disburse to these longhouse chiefs does not belong to GPS. Instead, these are monies that belongs to all Sarawakians. As such, such arrogance and mindset of using these funds as a token due to political patronage cannot be allowed.

With this, DAPSY call upon the GPS state government to also extend fund allocation under the RTP and MRP programme to opposition-held constituents. GPS at the end of the day is only a custodian of all these funds for Sarawakians and cannot treat this as party money.
