Press Statement By Leslie Ting:

Leslie Ting Xiang Zhi, candidate of the Democratic Action Party for the Stakan District, pointed out that important polling stations in the constituency had moved, affecting more than 2,000 voters. The majority of voters were urged to check their own polling stations before voting in order to avoid going the wrong stations.

The polling stations that were moved, namely:

1) The polling station, which was originally located at the Perpustakaan Desa Taman Samarindah was changed to vote at the newly opened Sekolah Kebangsaan St Martin polling station behind the “Liya Vegetable Market”.

2) Voters who originally cast their votes at the Dewan Persatuan Masyarakat Jalan. Muara Tuang, will now have to vote at the polling station of the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Wira Penrissen, next to the barracks on kuching serian Road 8 (near the traffic lights).

Therefore, ting Xiangzhi appealed to the majority of voters to check their polling stations in advance to avoid unnecessary confusion.

He also urged voters to come out to fulfill their civic duty. As long as they wear their masks and maintain social distancing, it is safer to vote than to sit in a coffee shop or a crowded supermarket.
