Days has passed and yet no evidences have been presented by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Comission (MACC). MACC has not only wrongfully placed charges on Lim Guan Eng, MACC also tried to shame and break his spirit by involving his family member. On 7 th of August, Lim Guan Eng’s wife, Ms. Betty Chew was arrested by MACC followed by corruption charges against her. It was another nonsensical action from MACC, Ms. Betty is a respectable lawyer with 26 years of experience, living an ordinary lifestyle with honest earnings and do not indulge in any unlawful activities. She plays a great role as both a fighter and a supporter, she had supported and fought along with Lim Guan Eng for the sake of a greater Malaysia and a better change.
All these disappointing and dirty tactics were clearly political vengeance to break the spirit of Lim Guan Eng and family. They have never been involved in or has ever practiced any sorts of corruption activity. Quoting from our prominent leader – Mr. Lim Kit Siang, “Persecution and discrimination against political opponents is hitting below the belt and should be avoided. There must be some decency and honour in national life by not involving innocent family members.” It breaks my heart to see the pain that has done to Lim Guan Eng’s family due to these baseless and nonsensical accusations. I pray that the family will be well in the midst of challenge and be filled by peace.
In Pakatan Harapan, we stand strong as one. Despite all these attacks and accusations, we will turn these adversities into strength to fight corruption. Together, let us have faith that with courage, truth and justice shall prevail.
