PH Federal Government allocated RM5 million to upgrade 4 Federal Roads in Kuching

The Pakatan Harapan Federal Government through Kementerian Kerja Raya has allocated a total of RM5 million this year for the upgrading projects of 4 Federal Roads in Kuching area which are now in progress.

These road upgrading projects approved include Jalan Tun Razak (cost RM2 million), Jalan Datuk Bandar Mustapha (cost RM1 million), section of Jalan Tun Razak- in front of Rajah Court Hotel (cost RM1 million) and Jalan Tun Jugah (cost RM1 million).

DAP Pending Assemblywoman YB Violet Yong was briefed about the detail and progress on the 4 upgrading Federal Road projects in Kuching by the project supervising agency JKR Sarawak during a recent held meeting.

Particularly, a special report was also given respecting the progress of the ongoing road upgrading work at the traffic light intersection of Jalan Tun Razak- Jalan Foochow area.

Yong had specifically requested JKR Sarawak to closely monitor the work and ensure the contractor to give their commitment by expediting the progress of the repair works and increasing their manpower so that the road repair can be completed within the shortest time possible.

“Since the commencement of the road repair works, I have received countless complaints from public using Jalan Tun Razak/Jalan Foochow that the slowness of the repair works has further aggrevated the heavy traffic jam, especially during the peak working hours.” Yong said.

As revealed, Jalan Tun Razak-Jalan Foochow Road upgrading work is divided into 5 stages and is estimated to complete by mid November this year.
