Press Statement by YB Kelvin Yii:

Together with Sdr Julian Tan, we went to Pertubuhan PDK Sentuhan Kasih Kuching which is situated at Jalan Ong Tiang Swee, next to PIBAKAT and PERKATA school for special needs to distribute 800 facemask and hand sanitizers to the staff and students of the centre.

This is for them as they prepare for their re-opening. Sentuhan kasih is a a centre that caters for rehabilitation of special needs students and helping them to learn certain skills to be independent and help them integrate into society.

The centre is run mainly by volunteers and this is one of the ways we want to show our appreciation to them for their dedication and patience to help and educate these children.

Due to “Zero Reject Policy”, introduced by the PH Federal Government, more and more of these children can now register in government schools under the Special Needs Classes(Pendidikan Khas). After school some still come back to the centre for further training and lessons as well.

So while my allocations has been frozen, but to show our support and care for each of them, we came out with ourbown contributions and we hope this can help the centre especially once they open to their special students.

We may not have much, but we will do as much as we can as each of them are really so precious and should get the proper love and care from us all.
