Often we hear many local politicians playing local sentiments and parading the beauty of a local Sarawakian party. This has led to the mushrooming of political parties like GPS, PSB, PBK, Aspirasi and many others.
Recently there was an incident which showed me how a Sarawakian party is not the way forward for Sarawakians.
A few days ago, I was approached by Ms. Jane (fictional name because her actual name is being withheld for confidentiality), a Sarawakian who is currently residing in Selangor. She has a 2 month old baby and her husband who was a technician is currently unemployed due to the MCO. She had no one to turn to and somehow managed to get my personal contact for assistance.
Seeing the urgency of the matter, I immediately reached out to YB Ng Sze Han and sought his help to extend some form of assistance to Ms. Jane. Without any delay, YB Ng Sze Han’s team contacted her and arrange to visit her at her home. During the said visit, some food aid was also given to her.
As political parties, we should be assisting all Malaysians, especially Sarawakians regardless where they are situated be it Peninsula Malaysia, Sabah or Sarawak. This episode has shown me the beauty of a national party. By tapping on each others resources, DAP Sarawak was able to help a Sarawakian in need who is residing in West Malaysia.
