From redelineation agenda to state governance pressure: DAPSY Sarawak passed 12 resolutions in Ordinary Convention

Delegates at the DAPSY Sarawak Ordinary Convention 2026, where 12 resolutions were passed addressing governance, economic concerns, electoral reform, and state accountability issues in Sarawak.

Kuching: The Democratic Action Party Socialist Youth (DAPSY) Sarawak concluded its Ordinary Convention 2026 last Saturday with the adoption of 12 resolutions calling for reforms in governance, electoral representation, public finance transparency, and socio-economic support measures.

The resolutions are as follows:

  1. We urge the Malaysia Government to investigate Azam Baki and to establish a Royal Investigation Commission to investigate the issue corporate mafia.
  2. We urge the Election Commission to implement a fair and proportionate representation accordance to the population on the delineation of State Constituency.
  3. We urge the Sarawak Government to be transparent and accountable on the finances of the State, especially considering that the State Government holds an 80-2 majority in the State Assembly.
  4. We urge the Sarawak Government to report to Sarawakians on the return of the state autonomy and rights in the upcoming DUN seating.
  5. We urge SUPP to clarify its alleged close relationship with Gangsterism activities in Kuching as their leaders have been reportedly seen to have attended activities with gangsters leader.
  6. We acknowledge the police’s efforts on its prompt action in the recent arrest of gangs and we encourage the police force to continue its efforts.
  7. We urge the Ministry of Local Governance and Public Health Sarawak to clarify the progress of the DID Flood Mitigation Projects in Kuching.
  8. We urge the Sarawak Government to increase the financial aids to SMEs and the general public given the global economic crisis.
  9. We urge the Sarawak Government to review the re-categorisation of land in Sarawak which has tremendously increased the land lease renewal premium of vast area of land.
  10. We urge the Ministry of Education to release the investigation reports of drowning of the two teacher trainees.
  11. We urge the Sarawak Government to expand the RM15000 stipends for universities students to all Sarawakians without considering their schools.
  12. We urge the Sarawak Government to provide reasonable fares through it’s state own Airline AirBorneo to Sarawakians.

All 12 resolutions have passed unanimously, which were proposed by the DAPSY Sarawak Secretary, George Lam Li Kang.
