Kuching: The Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak today officially opened its newly renovated state headquarters, marking an important milestone in strengthening the party’s organisational capacity and operational readiness in the state.

The opening ceremony was attended by party leaders, members, and supporters, underscoring the role of the headquarters as a central hub for coordination, administration, and engagement.

Those who presented are senior leaders, Chong Siew Chiang; Chairman, Chong Chieng Jen; Vice Chairman, Mordi Bimol; Vice Chairman, Oscar Ling Chai Yew; Secretary, Alan Ling Sie Kiong; Treasurer, Chiew Chiu Sing; Organising Secretary, Violet Yong Wui Wui; Assistant Organising Secretary, Roderick Wong; Publicity Secretary, Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen; and Assistant Publicity Secretary, Michael Kong.

The new premises will function as DAP Sarawak’s main administrative centre and support a wide range of political, organisational, and community-related activities.

The upgraded headquarters features improved facilities that create a more conducive environment for meetings, planning sessions, and internal coordination.

The ceremony began with traditional lion dance performances, accompanied by the lighting of firecrackers, creating a festive atmosphere to mark the official opening.

A blessing session was also held as part of the event, symbolising hopes for smooth operations and positive progress at the new headquarters.

The space is also intended to enhance public accessibility, allowing members of the community to engage with the party, seek assistance, and obtain information on issues affecting Sarawak.

It is expected to play a key role in facilitating engagement with various community groups and strengthening networks at both the local and state levels.

The establishment of the new headquarters reflects ongoing efforts to enhance organisational efficiency and long-term planning.

With the headquarters now fully operational, it is positioned to serve as a focal point for coordination, engagement, and service, supporting the party’s continued involvement in political activities and community engagement throughout Sarawak.
