Kuching: The MyLesen B2 programme in P196 Stampin continues to gain momentum, with 881 students completing their motorcycle licence theory examinations over the weekend at SJK (C) Sam Hap Hin.
The strong participation underscores the constituency’s ongoing commitment to supporting Federal Government initiatives aimed at improving road safety and widening access to licensing opportunities.
Special Assistant to Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen, Michael Kong Feng Nian, said the initiative remains a key effort in ensuring that youths in Stampin – many of whom rely on motorcycles for daily travel can obtain proper licensing with reduced barriers.
“To accommodate those who missed the weekend session, an additional examination has been scheduled for 7 December 2025 at the driving institute’s premises.
“Following the theory exams, examiners will assess the results and arrange for the issuance of Learner’s Licences (L Licence) to successful candidates, enabling them to begin practical training soon after,” he said.
Kong added that the Stampin office will continue working closely with JPJ Sarawak to plan the next phase of the MyLesen programme, which includes practical sessions on purpose-built obstacle courses designed to train riders in safe and responsible motorcycle handling.
He emphasised that the MyLesen B2 programme is part of P196 Stampin’s broader commitment to supporting federal-level community-focused initiatives that bring tangible benefits to residents.
“Our continued collaboration with federal agencies ensures that the people of Stampin have access to real opportunities that improve their daily lives. Helping young riders obtain proper licences keeps them safe, legal, and protected,” he said.
Kong expressed confidence that the students will progress smoothly to the practical stage and eventually secure their full motorcycle licences under the MyLesen B2 initiative.
