Kuching: Stampin’s classroom digitalisation initiative has taken another step forward with a new allocation of RM162,000 to Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Satria Jaya for the purchase of 12 additional Smart Interactive TVs.
The initiative, which began last year with the introduction of digital learning tools in government-aided schools, has received strong support from SK Satria Jaya’s teaching staff and students.
According to Michael Kong, Special Assistant to Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen, the feedback following the first rollout was highly encouraging.
“Teachers told us that the Smart Interactive TVs have made lessons more engaging and interactive, while students found the new learning experience more exciting and effective,” said Michael Kong.
With the latest contribution, half of SK Satria Jaya’s classrooms will soon be equipped with Smart Interactive TVs.
Kong said this forms part of a broader plan to modernise learning spaces across the Stampin constituency.
“Our long-term goal is to digitalise all classrooms in Stampin fully. To ensure SK Satria Jaya achieves full digital coverage, we have already committed to contributing an additional 12 units next year. This will allow every classroom to benefit from state-of-the-art digital teaching tools,” he said.
Kong emphasised that investment in education remains a key priority for the Democratic Action Party (DAP).
“Technology is now central to learning. By equipping schools with modern tools, we are giving our children an environment that prepares them for the digital future,” he said.
“This initiative is not just about hardware – it is about ensuring students have access to quality, interactive learning opportunities.”
The contribution was formally handed over to the school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG), which welcomed the continued support and stated that the upgrades would significantly enhance teaching efficiency and student participation.
Kong added that similar efforts will continue throughout the constituency as part of ongoing efforts to uplift educational standards.
