Kuching: The Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak is making significant strides in the fundraising efforts for the renovation of the headquarters, with a fundraising dinner set to take place this Thursday, 15 May 2025, at Theatre Hotel.
DAP Sarawak Chairman Chong Chieng Jen said that the party headquarters, which has long suffered from structural issues such as a leaking roof, cracked walls, and sunken floors, requires extensive repairs at an estimated cost of RM300,000.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our supporters. Thanks to your unwavering dedication, all tickets for the fundraising dinner were sold out within just two weeks, demonstrating the strong bond we share with the community. Many supporters have also generously contributed directly to the renovation fund.
“We are also deeply thankful for the national support we have received. In a message to all DAP Members of Parliament across Malaysia, every single MP responded positively, contributing to the renovation expenses.
“This overwhelming national solidarity reaffirms that DAP Sarawak is not fighting alone but we stand united with DAP at the national level,” he said in a statement.
He added, the party headquarters is the home for the party, and the fundraising dinner is not just about renovations; it also marks the beginning of the campaign for the upcoming state election.
“We encourage all members to actively participate and show our party’s strength and unity.
“Once the renovation work is completed, let us give our all and start afresh to strive for better results in the coming state election,” he said.
The Rocket Night is a fundraising dinner for the renovation of the DAP Sarawak headquarters.
