Press Statement by Kelvin Yii:

Together with YB Violet Yong, we paid another short visit to the designated COVID-19 Screening Centre at Kompleks Belia & Sukan, Kuching to handover 24 boxes of “B Fusion Oral Dispersible Powder” worth RM 12,000 sponsored by WBG Asia Pacific(M) Sdn Bhd for the benefit of our medical frontliners at the Kompleks.

“B Fusion” is rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants that can help strengthen the immune system especially for the frontliners that come into contact with PUIs and possible positive COVID-19 cases on a daily basis.

Since the complexes was designated as a special screening centre at the end of March 2020, more and more people have come forward to get tested as clusters are being identified and also people are more and more aware of the pandemic and concerned about being infected by the disease.

We were informed that more than 100+ PUIs were tested positive came through this screening centre. That is why efforts must be made to protect our frontliners stationed there so that they can concentrate on their duty with a peace of mind and also to protect their family and love ones.

The principle is simple, the better we protect our frontliners, the better they can protect and serve the people. While many has said called them as frontliners, but our medical workers are actually ournlast line of defence as if they fall and fail, then we will then lose the battle against this virus.

That is why it is our collective duty to make sure they are supported and protected, if not we all will suffer. That is why i welcome strategic partnership including with the private sector such as this to offer their assistance and contributions to make sure they are getting the support that they deserve.

We all have a part to play in this battle as we take care of one another. We want to extend our deepest appreciation for all the efforts and hardwork the whole team has put in to protect the people of Sarawak.
