Kuching: DAP Stampin continued its education outreach this week with an expanded round of the Back to School initiative, reaching a total of 11 schools in the Batu Kawa and greater Kuching area.
The initiative, led by Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen, aims to ensure that students from low-income families start the new school year equipped and confident.
Chong’s Special assistant, Sim Kiat Leng, delivered school packs including stationery, pencil cases, water bottles, and school shoes to students across eight schools in Batu Kawa, namely SK Rantau Panjang, SJKC Rantau Panjang, SJKC Chung Hua Sungai Tapang, SJKC Moyan, SJKC Syn San Tu, SJKC Chung Hua Sungai Tengah, SJKC Sejijak, and SJKC Chung Hua Kim Choo Seng.
Sim said the assistance program continues to grow each year, reflecting DAP Stampin’s mission to support families facing financial strain.
“Education remains the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. We hope this contribution lifts some burden from parents and encourages children to pursue their studies with enthusiasm,” he said.
The Back to School support expanded further when special assistant Michael Kong Feng Nian distributed additional school packs at SK Laksamana, SK Garland, and SK Jalan Arang – bringing the total to 11 schools assisted this week alone.
Kong emphasised that DAP Stampin is committed to ensuring no child is left behind, especially when financial challenges threaten students’ readiness for school.
“Supporting our children is an investment in the community’s future. We will continue working with schools and parents to address needs and provide meaningful assistance,” he said.
With 11 schools covered this week, DAP Stampin reaffirmed its long-term commitment to educational welfare and equitable support for students across the constituency.
