Kuching: SJK (C) Chung Hua Sungai Lubak has received RM31,962.00 from the DAP Stampin Parliamentary Service Centre to purchase new furniture and materials for the enhancement of its reading corner, aiming to create a more conducive and engaging learning environment for students.

The funds were handed over by Michael Kong Feng Nian, Special Assistant to Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen.

The contribution aims to encourage students to develop a stronger reading culture from an early age by providing them with a comfortable and inspiring space.

Michael Kong noted that the initiative is timely, as students today are heavily exposed to gadgets and short-form digital content.

“Reading builds focus, comprehension, creativity, and critical thinking – qualities that no digital shortcut can replace,” he said, expressing hope that the upgraded reading corner will help students rediscover the joy of reading.

He also commended SJK (C) Chung Hua Sungai Lubak for its efforts in promoting literacy and providing a well-rounded educational environment for its pupils.

“We will continue to support the school in its ongoing efforts to deliver holistic learning opportunities,” he added.
