Padungan assemblyman Wong King Wei hand-delivered boxes of kurma (dates) to two police stations and a fire and rescue services (Bomba) station in his constituency on the first day of Gawai.
He said those dates were meant as a token of appreciation for the hard work and commitment of the mentioned uniformed bodies in the Padungan constituency.
“I visited two police stations and a Bomba station in my constituency to hand over kurma to officers on duty despite the festive holidays,” said the Vice Chairman of Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak.
Wong lauded the officers for their dedication and commitment in discharging their respective duties during this festive season.
“I can’t thank them enough for fulfilling their obligation by continue serving the people despite the fact that it is festive season,” he said.
On hand to receive the dates were officer on duty at the Central Police Station Corporal Abu Bakar and supervisor of Padungan Bomba Station Jeffery.
