Kuching: In preparation for Easter last weekend, Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen, together with the JAGUH Recreation Club Kuching, donated 80 trays of raw eggs to the Sacred Heart Church at 7th Mile to support the church’s festive activities.
The donation used for the church’s annual Easter events, including the “Easter Eggs” activity, is a tradition that symbolises new life and hope.
Chong said Easter is a time not only for religious reflection but also for spreading love and hope.
“Easter represents rebirth and hope, and eggs symbolise new beginnings. We hope this contribution will ease the church’s preparations and bring joy to the community,” he said.
Chong also praised JAGUH Recreation Club Kuching for its active community service, emphasising that small acts of kindness are especially important during challenging economic times.
The club reaffirmed its commitment to charitable initiatives, encouraging others to participate in public welfare and support organisations in need.
Meanwhile, Father Felix Au and his team expressed gratitude for the donation, highlighting that the eggs will be used to create traditional colored eggs and distributed to children and families as part of the Easter celebrations.
