Bintulu: More than 200 delegates and observers from across the state attended the DAP Sarawak 2025 Annual Convention, held on 26 October 2025 at Restoran Mandarin (1992) in Bintulu.
The convention, chaired by Mengkibol Assemblyman from Johor, Chew Chong Sin, proceeded smoothly with active participation from delegates who discussed key political issues and the party’s direction ahead of the state election expected next year.
DAP Sarawak Secretary, Alan Ling, said this year’s convention marked a renewed spirit to strengthen the party’s groundwork following the less favourable outcome in the 2021 state election.
“Although we only won two seats in the last state election, our groundwork never stopped. We continue to engage the people in all constituencies, including those we lost, because our political struggle is a long-term commitment,” he said.
Meanwhile, DAP Sarawak Chairman, Chong Chieng Jen, in his keynote address, stressed the importance of unity, strategic planning, and teamwork to ensure that DAP remains relevant and continues to gain the people’s support in Sarawak.
13 resolutions calling on the State Government to address a wide range of pressing issues affecting the people of Sarawak have passed unanimously, which were proposed by the DAP Sarawak Deputy State Secretary, Larry Asap.
Ling expressed his appreciation to DAP Bintulu, led by Tony Chiew, for successfully hosting the event and thanked all delegates for their attendance and strong commitment.
“We are pleased that the convention went smoothly and successfully. Thank you to everyone who came and contributed with great solidarity,” he added.
