Kuching: LPKP Sarawak has officially launched six new routes under the Bas.My Kuching service marks a significant step forward in enhancing public transportation connectivity for the people.

The simultaneous rollout of the new routes is aimed at improving accessibility for residents across various neighbourhoods, and has been positively received by the public.

With the expansion, more commuters can now enjoy convenient and reliable bus services within their communities.

Chairman Michael Kong Feng Nian highlighted the initiative’s importance, noting that the new routes are designed to serve growing residential areas better.

“As part of efforts to assess service effectiveness, I personally experienced the Q15 Saujana – Stutong Baru / Kuching Sentral route, which connects key locations such as Foochow Road, Tabuan Jaya, Tabuan Laru, Tabuan Heights, and Stutong Baru.

“While the expanded network is a positive step forward, punctuality and reliability remain the cornerstone of Bas.My Kuching. These are the key factors that will determine public confidence and long-term adoption of bus services,” he said.

He said LPKP Sarawak will continue to closely monitor operators to ensure strict adherence to schedules and service standards.

Kong also pointed out that the Bas.My Kuching mobile application has yet to reflect the newly introduced routes.

“This is an important aspect of service delivery, as many users rely on the application for route planning and real-time information.

“We will immediately liaise with the system provider to ensure that the application is updated without delay to provide accurate and timely information to users,” he said.

The introduction of the six new routes underscores LPKP Sarawak’s continued commitment to improving public transport services, enhancing connectivity, and encouraging greater public adoption of bus travel in Kuching.
