Kuching: The Jualan Rahmah Madani Bergerak programme, held at the Sentosa Sports Centre, received an encouraging response from the local community, reflecting continued demand for initiatives to ease the cost of living.
Residents who attended the event were able to purchase essential goods at prices 10-30 percent lower than regular retail rates.
The programme was made possible through subsidies provided by the Federal Government via the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living.
According to Special Assistant to Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen, Michael Kong Feng Nian, they also ensured that the operator was registered under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) programme, allowing eligible recipients to utilise their SARA credit balances to purchase daily necessities during the sale.
“This arrangement enabled government assistance to be accessed more practically and conveniently. Over the past year, we have been working closely with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living to bring the Jualan Rahmah Madani Bergerak to various parts of Stampin.
“This ensures that many families benefit from these affordable shopping opportunities at their own convenience,” he said.
He added that similar programmes are being planned in the coming months, with details to be announced periodically.
“Our goal is to make these initiatives a regular feature in our community, ensuring that help continues to reach the people where it truly matters,” he said.
