Kuching: In response to the call of DAP Sarawak DAP Chairman Chong Chieng Jen, DAPSY Sarawak today lodged a police report, urging the authorities to immediately launch an investigation into SUPP’s alleged receipt of RM1 million from former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
On 26 December 2025, Najib was convicted by the High Court on all 25 charges in connection with the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) case. This is an undeniable, documented judicial fact.
The convictions include:
Najib was found guilty of 4 counts of abuse of power and 21 counts of money laundering, involving the illegal transfer and handling of tens of billions of ringgit in public funds.
The court determined that Najib, as Prime Minister and Finance Minister, abused his highest public office to unlawfully obtain and deal with funds that rightfully belonged to the nation and the people.
The court sentenced Najib to long-term imprisonment and imposed massive fines exceeding RM10 billion, clearly confirming that his actions constituted serious corruption, abuse of power, and money laundering.
Against such a clear and established judicial background, SUPP’s receipt of RM1 million from a former Prime Minister who the courts have fully convicted cannot be justified, nor can it be casually dismissed as a mere “political donation”.
DAPSY Sarawak, therefore, demands answers:
- Where did this RM1 million come from?
- Did it involve funds linked to 1MDB or other public monies?
- Was it derived from abuse of power, money laundering, or other illegal activities?
SUPP owes the people of Sarawak a clear, full, and transparent explanation, rather than remaining silent or attempting to divert public attention.
DAPSY Sarawak stresses that the fight against corruption and the pursuit of clean politics must never be subject to double standards.
Any political party or individual involved in financial dealings with a person who has been convicted of corruption by the courts must be subjected to full legal and public scrutiny.
The police and all relevant enforcement agencies must act in accordance with the law, independently and without fear or favour, to thoroughly investigate this matter, deliver the truth to the people, and safeguard the integrity of Sarawak’s political landscape.
