Kuching: The DAP Kuching Service Centre has submitted a total of 664 new applications and information update forms for the Federal Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) programme to the Kuching Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) on 25 November 2025, ensuring applicants can be included in the first batch of the 2026 disbursement list.

The handover was conducted at the LHDN Academy Kuching, with Special Assistant to Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen, Michael Kong Feng Nian, accompanying the team to submit the applications to the LHDN officers.

Special Assistant to Bandar Kuching MP Dr. Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen, George Lam, urged members of the public to check their application status by 28 November via the STR website at https://bantuantunai.hasil.gov.my.

“Those who have not updated their information for three consecutive years are encouraged to do so promptly to secure inclusion in the 2026 first batch of recipients.

“For senior citizens aged 60 and above, if their basic information, such as mobile number or bank account details, remains unchanged, no updates are required,” he said in a statement.

Lam said the situation reflects the Unity Government’s commitment to the elderly community, as their applications will be automatically included in the first batch of the 2026 disbursement based on existing records.

He added that households earning below RM5,000 per month and single individuals earning below RM2,500 per month are encouraged to apply for the STR programme.

“Approved applicants will not only receive direct cash assistance from the Federal Government but also additional benefits, including monthly essential goods assistance via MyKad (SARA), coverage under the MySalam insurance scheme, PekaB40 medical assistance, and participation in the Skim Perubatan Madani programme.

“Applicants only need to submit their STR application. Once approved, all medical and welfare benefits will be automatically granted, demonstrating the Unity Government’s commitment to putting the people first,” Lam said.

DAP Kuching Service Centres are ready to assist members of the public in checking their application status, updating information, or submitting new applications.

He stressed that members of the public are welcome to visit any DAP Service Centre in Kuching if they require assistance with checking their application status, updating their information, or submitting new applications.

“We are ready to assist with form completion and document verification to ensure a smooth application process.

“Applicants only need to prepare their MyKad, spouse’s MyKad (or death/divorce certificate), their children’s birth certificates (for children under 18), and their bank account information. They can then head to any DAP Service Centre, where we will do our best to assist with their application,” he said.
