Kuching: The Chi Yi Tang Temple at Stampin Resettlement Scheme is set for a facelift following the announcement of a RM173,365 contribution to support its renovation works.
The contribution was handed over during the Hungry Ghost Festival celebration organised by Persatuan Penganut Buddha Chi Yi Tang Kuching on 6 September 2025.
The upcoming renovation will focus on upgrading the temple’s carpark and improving the roofing, aimed at providing devotees with a safer and more comfortable environment for worship and community activities.
Special Assistant to Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen, Michael Kong Feng Nian, who presented the contribution, said Chi Yi Tang Temple has long served as a pillar of the local community by uniting residents through faith, culture, and tradition.
“We are proud to play a part in supporting its continued growth and improvement,” he said, adding that the renovations will strengthen the temple’s role as a gathering point for devotees and residents in the area.
The temple committee expressed gratitude for the support, noting that the upgrades will ensure the temple remains a welcoming and enduring place of worship for generations to come.
