In a written answer to MP Sibu Oscar Ling in Parliament questioning when the IPCMC will be set up to address the issues related to misuse of power and bribery that happened regularly as reported by public.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s department in charge of law, YB Datuk Liew Vui Keong stated in his written answer that government is currently drafting the new bill, and once it is done, the bill will be tabled in Parliament to be approved.
The setting up of IPCMC is an effort of PH government to address issues related to misconducts and integrity of police force. However, issues related to abuse of power and bribery, IPCMC will work with MACC to address them.
PH government also committed to make sure the integrity of our police force is maintained in highest level, and government will ensure the new IPCMC is fully independent and efficient.
