Kuching: The Jualan Kombo Madani event organised on 7 September 2025 at Lorong 2, Stampin Resettlement Scheme received an overwhelming response from the public, with all 300 sets snapped up within just 20 minutes of the programme’s launch.

According to Michael Kong Feng Nian, Special Assistant to Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen, a long queue had already formed as early as 8.30 AM, an hour before the sales began.

“The incredible turnout shows just how much the community appreciates such initiatives,” he said.

Despite attempts by certain quarters to dissuade the public from attending, Michael Kong said the strong participation reflected the people’s support for programmes aimed at easing the cost of living.

He added that the Federal Government has also recently introduced the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) initiative, providing RM100 to eligible Malaysians to help them purchase essential goods.

“We will continue to roll out more people-friendly programmes like this to ease the burden on the rakyat and ensure assistance reaches those who need it most,” he assured.
